Unanswered questions in death of Oklahoma teen Noah Presgrove found dead ... trends now

The family of an Oklahoma teen found dead wearing just his shoes on the side of the road have been left with more questions than answers after his autopsy results.

Noah Presgrove, 19, was discovered on a desolate stretch of US-81 near Terral, Oklahoma, on September 4 after he disappeared from a four-day 22nd birthday party with friends over the Labor Day weekend.

This week, an autopsy declared his cause of death to be blunt force trauma to the head, while police said his death was no longer being investigated as a murder.

After the results, his family are begging for answers, as his mother Kasey Elliot told KSWO: 'I need the peace, because I’m really, I kill myself everyday. Please somebody, please. You know, just something, anybody.'

They are beginning to despair that the police investigation will not bring them peace. Grandmother Deborah Presgrove told NewsNation: 'I have respect for law enforcement, but I just felt like I just don't feel like they're doing enough right now.'

Noah was last seen alive about a mile away from where he was found dead at a four-day 22nd birthday party with friends over the Labor Day weekend that was heavily documented on social media.

After almost eight months of silence, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, which is leading the investigation, finally gave its first update since last September.

'Currently, the OHP is not investigating Presgrove's death as a murder,' it said.

'The investigation is not over, and anyone with information on Presgrove's death is encouraged to contact [us].'

This was despite friends and family who saw his body saying his badly battered face 'looked like he got beat up by five dudes,' DailyMail.com exclusively reported.

The announcement has raised serious questions for Noah's family, who believe that there was foul play involved in Noah's death.

Deborah Presgrove, Noah Presgrove’s grandmother, told NewsNation: 'That's what got me thinking that it was no accident, you know, even just beating the head so many times, it just, you know, it couldn't have been by a car. Just once I saw his face, I just couldn't do it. I had no idea about the hair.'

She said she's tried asking his friends for answers: 'I've talked to a few myself, only the closest ones that I feel like I could, but not really getting nothing out of them.

'I mean, one of them I've gotten a couple of stories, two different stories out of his mouth. And another one, I've gotten three different stories out of his mouth. So, you know which story is true?'

The damage to his face was in addition to other injuries to the back of his head and upper body Noah suffered, and added fuel to fears he was murdered

She added: 'I just pray to God Jack [Noah's best friend] has nothing to do with it.

'You know, in my heart, I just pray to God Jack [Jack Newton is Noah’s best friend] has nothing to do with it. You know, I mean, because I love Jack.

'You know, but you know, that was Noah's best friend and where was he, you know? I mean, I hate to put that on him. But you know, I just... keeps going into my head. They've done wrong, they've done wrong, and they need to stand up and be a man made it, you know, regardless.'

She added: 'It's, you know, hard to believe that you can have friends like that and they all just stabbing you in the back.'

Not investigating the teen's death as a murder does not mean police have ruled out manslaughter, and detectives are considering competing theories.

'We would like to publicly thank the team that are working in unison tirelessly to navigate what has always been called as a suspicious death, not a murder which is killing by premeditation,' Presgrove's family said in a statement.

'We understand everyone’s frustrations more so than anyone. However, we ask that everyone be mindful of their dedication and perseverance in finding answers.'

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation called Presgrove's death 'suspicious' in the days after his body was found.

His mother, Kasey Elliot, begged for answers, telling KSWO: 'Please somebody, please. You know, just something, anybody. Mercy on their soul, I have mercy on their souls.

'He was just an all around boy. He was a son that everyone would want, you know. He was my son, and I miss him. I know God needed him for some reason, and I wish he was still here with me.'

OHP's announcement came hours after the Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner finally revealed his cause of death.

The summary autopsy report ruled Presgrove died from 'multiple blunt force injuries', just as DailyMail.com revealed earlier

However, the manner of death was still a mystery and ruled out him being hit by a vehicle at the spot where he died.

'There were no vehicle parts or debris observed on the scene. At this time, what transpired on how the body was found on the road having multiple blunt force injuries is unknown,' it read.

'Therefore, the manner of death is deemed undetermined.'

The report summary also vaguely explained some of the events leading up to Presgrove's disappearance and discovery on the highway.

'Then he rode an ATV ranger vehicle with several men that had a roll over incident. The decedent was alive following the incident and returned to the party where he got into an argument with his girlfriend,' it read.

'The decedent left the house party and was not found until the morning of September 4, 2023, on the side of the highway.'

Presgove's best friend Jack Newton, who was at the party but claimed he was asleep when he disappeared, said it was his ATV that was in the accident.
