People call my £400k house 'hideous' because of my porthole window and garden ... trends now
The owner of a newly renovated home which is has been slammed on social media and likened to a 'Lego' build has told critics to 'go and get a life'.
The refurbished and extended semi - a pre-fab post war 'temporary 10-year dwelling' - was bought and done up by businessman Matthew Grant, 44.
But critics have described the property, nestled in an idyllic location on the edge of the Peak District, as 'absolutely grim,' and 'lacking soul' and 'just as sterile and grey as you can imagine.'
Some moan about it having 'too much tarmac' while others groan about a 'tacky, plastic lawn', with one saying it looks 'hideous'.
Others have slammed the 'uneven distribution of windows' at the front and belittle a large round non-opening porthole window.

One user on X - formerly Twitter - posts it is 'hideous' and says the owners must be a 'plonker' for choosing the design.
Another chips in: 'They keep reducing the price. Wonder why?'
But householder Matthew, said he isn't one bit phased by the many cruel comments, shown to him by MailOnline.
To the armchair taunters slamming his home, the boss of a specialist roof cleaning and renovation company, who also owns four flats in Nottingham, he said: 'Get a life! I've got a good one!
'I don't go on Twitter, so this is news to me, but I don't care what people think. My house is perfect.'
Showing our team around the large property in the desirable village of Cutthorpe, near Chesterfield, Derbyshire, a bemused Matthew said: 'It is my dream house. I love it and my neighbours do too.'

He admitted he had dropped the asking price over the months to £400,00 and is only selling it as he plans to buy a self sufficient farm in a remote spot in the Portuguese mountains.
The house is one in a row built shortly after the Second World War and was only designed to last 10 years.
It overlooks the picturesque village cricket ground and has a community hall and pub nearby.
Fitness fanatic Matthew, originally from Bakewell, has built a self contained gym in the rear garden.
He told how he bought the property in November 2022 to renovate and to sell, explaining: 'It had been abandoned for years and was in a right state.
'I've totally gutted it and extended it to the side, and it's had all new brickwork and new roof, new garden at the back and large tarmac drive at the front. I've spent £30,000 alone on a gym in a log cabin.
'It's a new house now, with four bedrooms, and it will only increase property prices in the area because it looks so good.'
Matthew, who owns Peak Roof Clean, told how he had renovated it 'using tradespeople I know and I helped work on the roof.'
He added: 'It cost a fortune to do up and I'm proud of the result. I work very hard and could afford it.
'If I was a rich man I would keep it but my plan is to move to Portugal in a year and find a place away from everyone to raise a family.'
