Jay Blades revealed 'my life is not always rosy' as Repair Shop star hinted at ... trends now

Jay Blades hinted his marriage was in turmoil just days before his wife walked out on him.

The Repair Shop star's 18 month marriage to Lisa Zbozen, 44, ended this week with his fitness instructor wife saying it had got 'worse and worse'. 

The 54-year-old furniture restorer appeared to suggest earlier this week there were problems in his life as he revealed in an interview he was 'going through some stuff at the moment'. 

Blades has yet to publicly comment about his marriage breakdown amid him being on a social media hiatus as he undergoes therapy following the death of his uncle. 

Lisa posted an emotional statement to social media signalling she had ended their marriage and was no longer living with Blades at their home, which adjoins a sprawling country estate. 

Talking to the Independent, Blades recounted how he had broken down in tears the day before the sit-down interview following an encounter with a young woman as he left his hotel.

The exchange left Blades feeling emotional when the young woman grasped hold of his hand and told him 'when something's broken, you replace it with gold, which makes it stronger and celebrates what broke you'.     

'I've been going through some stuff at the moment, my life is not always rosy, and that's exactly what I needed to hear,' he said. 

He shared a hug with the woman as tears streamed from his eyes. He then kissed her hand before tipping his famous flat cap at her 'like I was in the 18th century' before going on his way. 

Blades has since sought therapy for the first time in six years 'because there's stuff that I've got going on in my head and I need to speak to someone'

He announced to his 195,000 Instagram followers two days before his separation from Lisa was made public that he was taking a break from social media. 

Speaking after the funeral of his 'super nice guy' uncle Richard Brathwaite, 72, he said: 'It [his death] really affected me. I feel a little bit messed up, so what I'm intending on doing is this: I'm coming off social media for a bit and I'll back in a bit. 

'I'm going to go get some therapy and just chill out. Because when things happen, sometimes you need to take stock and just relax.'

Brathwaite was found dead in Wembley, north London, in March after allegedly being stabbed to death by a neighbour following a long-running dispute over a shared alleyway.
