Families of 10 wedding guests killed in a bus crash say they feel 'betrayed' after they learned the vehicle's driver will reportedly have manslaughter charges against him dropped as part of a plea deal.

Brett Button, 59, is expected to plead guilty to multiple lesser charges of dangerous driving occasioning death following the crash, which saw his coach roll at a roundabout at a wedding near Greta in the NSW Hunter Valley on June 11 last year.

The deal, which reportedly came after weeks of negotiations between Button's lawyers and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), will see 10 charges of manslaughter dropped when he faces Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday.

The DPP remained tight-lipped about the news on Tuesday, saying the matter was still before the court.

Matt Mullen, the father of Rebecca Mullen who died in the crash, issued a plea to the Director of Public Prosecutions to go through with the original counts of manslaughter, which were included in 89 charges Button was to face.

'I begged them, we are still waiting now in the process hoping that they will reconsider,' Mr Mullen told Seven News

'It is a tattoo on our hearts that we are going to have to carry the rest of our lives forever.'
