Montreal fire department investigators are probing the cause of a fire that broke out early Monday in a three-storey commercial building on St-Denis St. near St-Louis Square.

Fire officials say they spent two hours fighting the one-alarm fire, which was centred on the second floor of the building located at 3439 St-Denis St. and was brought under control by 7 a.m.

While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, there is nothing to indicate it was deliberately set.

No one was in the building when the fire occurred and damage to the property is estimated at $75,000.
