Good Samaritan bit by bobcat that latched unto his arm

A good Samaritan is recovering from non life-threatening injuries he sustained when fighting off a bobcat in Arizona.

A spokesman from the Daisy Mountain Fire district said that the bystander had been helping a man and his German shepherd fend off the agitated bobcat in a residential community in Anthem, Arizona.

'Bobcats are pretty common to see and they are just as scared of humans as we are of them,' said Brent Fenton, the public information officer of the Daisy Mountain Fire district.

'But it is uncharacteristic to see one attack.'

He and the German shepherd had been running away from the critter before the pooch turned around and began defending them both

The dog had pinned the bobcat down, keeping it at bay before the bystander came up and attempted to assist matters by throwing the animal

The fire department received a call around 7.45am saying that the pest had been terrorizing a man and his dog
