A gas leak that began around 11:50 a.m. shut down two streets in Montreal’s Mercier borough Monday afternoon.

Repair work has forced the closure of Cadillac St. between de Marseille St. and Hochelaga St.

Pierre-De Courbertin Ave., where the gas leak is located, is also closed in both directions between De Quesne St. and Bossuet St. Montreal police officers are in the area directing traffic.

The SPVM said the streets is expected to be reopened around 11 p.m.
