The ABC has been slammed for using its current affairs program to promote Labor senator Sam Dastyari's new book.
Politicians and viewers accused the national broadcaster of using Monday night's episode of Australian Story as a 'propaganda piece' for the controversial politician.
The episode detailed the life of Dastyari, who migrated from Iran to Australia as a child and quickly climbed the ranks of the Labor party, until a political donations scandal saw him resign spectacularly from the opposition frontbench last year.
But social media users questioned the taxpayer funded broadcaster's decision to air the program just one day after Dastyari's book release.
