A struggling carpet store that claimed it was closing down for so long it became a local legend has finally shut up shop after 30 years of business.
George's Import Rug Bazaar, in Geelong, has been in the process of 'closing down' for as long as some locals in the bustling Victorian town can remember.
The rug store, which doubled as a hair extension retailer in its later years, proudly displayed 'All Stock Must Go' and 'Make An Offer' signs up until its dying days.
But all that remains now is a few boxes packed neatly in the centre of the empty store, with two LED lights still flashing 'OPEN' next to a door padlocked shut.
