Australian dollar strongest in two years against US dollar

Australians buying from and travelling in the United States have President Donald to thank for increased spending power.

The Australian dollar is at its strongest point against US currency in two years, peaking at 80.41 American cents on Tuesday.

The radical in which has been leading America has led to uncertainty with international traders, but great news for Australian shoppers.

'It's been a combination of continued momentum appetite for the Euro, aided by somewhat better-than-expected data out of Europe, mixed data from the US, and over recent hours, more revolving doors at the White House,' National Australia Bank economist David de Garis told Business Insider.
