This is the amazing moment a have-a-go hero attempted to foil a bank heist by wrestling an armed robber to the ground.
Police have released CCTV footage of the incident which saw the passer-by walk into the bank in Teddington, south west London, to find a man wearing a balaclava threatening 'terrified' staff with a handgun.
The brave member of the public confronted the robber and grabbed him by the neck as he tried to escape to the door.
After a brief struggle outside, the robber can be seen running from the scene, and is thought to have made off with around £150.

The Metropolitan Police's Flying Squad is investigating the incident at the bank in Broad Street.
