This adorable kitten can count herself lucky she has nine lives.
The 14-week-old moggy, named Phoenix, suffered horrific burns during a garden fire in Sunderland, but is now well on her way to recovery.
Neighbours spotted Phoenix's paws peaking out from under a pile of wood after hearing her cries.
She lost her tail as well as fur from her ears, paws and toes during the fire.
Thankfully she is now recovering at RSPCA Felledge, where she needs round-the-clock attention.
Luka Atkinson, reception supervisor at RSPCA Felledge, told the Sunderland Echo: 'When Phoenix arrive she was in a really sorry state. She was just six weeks old back then and to see such a tiny kitten that was was really hard for us.
'The skin on all four of her pads was burnt off and the fur on her face, tummy and legs was singed - she was lucky to be alive.
Phoenix's skin was crisp and had started to fall off, and the fire burnt the pads off her paws
'The fully extent of her injuries took a few days to come out; initially her fur looked singed and fuzzy but it gradually started to fall out and her skin started to crisp
