When Sarah Mispelhorn and her family arrived home after a day out on Sunday, their beloved pet kitten 'Lucy' was nowhere to be seen.
While not immediately concerned, the family became worried when the adorable cat was still missing from their family home next morning.
And just hours later, Ms Mispelhorn's young son made the horrific discovery of his pet lying bloodied and minus its two front legs beneath their home at Rockhampton, far north Queensland.
The family are now reeling in the wake of the attack, with Ms Mispelhorn's friend and neighbour telling Daily Mail Australia they believe the torturous incident could have been a deliberate attack.
