A 19-year-old man was in police custody Wednesday morning in the wake of a pair of armed robberies committed in Longueuil Tuesday night.

The first robbery occurred at a store on Bellerose St. in the city’s Vieux Longueuil district about 10 p.m. and during which an employee suffered non-life-threatening injuries as the suspect emptied the contents of the cash register.

Ten minutes later on Goyette St., a block away, a second robbery occurred, allegedly by the same suspect, who fled the scene while police were responding to the first robbery.

The suspect was finally intercepted by police, who say they found him driving a stolen car.
