'PROJECT SMEAR' Meddling Tony Blair SLAPPED DOWN after 'patronising' Brexit ...

The former PM was accused of "patronising" Northern voters following a controversial TV interview broadcast yesterday.

He suggested people living in towns such as Barnsley and Boston were not informed enough during last year's EU referendum campaign.

Mr Blair claimed many of them do not "understand the difference between being part of the single market, and being outside of it".

He said: "What I say to people – whether it's in Barnsley or Boston or wherever it is – is yes, we've got to provide answers to your problems and your challenges.

"But this is not the answer. This is actually going to distract us from with dealing with the real problems of the country, and it's going to make us poorer."

And he insisted Brexit could be reversed, claiming it is "damaging" the UK's economy and position on the world stage "every day".
