GETTY/EPARex Tillerson has said the US will not seek to oust Kim Jong-un over North Korea's missile programme
Addressing the North Korean dictator, Rex Tillerson said: “We’re not your enemy.
"We do not seek a regime change, we do not seek the collapse of the regime, we do not seek an accelerated reunification of the peninsula, we do not seek an excuse to send our military north of the 38th parallel [the border with South Korea].”
The Secretary of State added: "We're not your enemy, we're not your threat but you're presenting an unacceptable threat to us and we have to respond."

Meanwhile, a senior Republican senator said President Donald Trump has considered going to war with North Korea as an option.
And the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Mike Pompeo earlier hinted that the US was open to the possibility of ousting Kim Jong-un to remove his growing threat and denuclearise North Korea.
Mr Pompeo said it would be “a great thing to denuclearise the peninsula, to get those weapons off of that, but the thing that is most dangerous about it is the character who holds the control over them today”.
