Australian comedian Dave Hughes appeared to get an endorsement by Donald Trump last month when the the US President tweeted his name on his infamous Twitter account.
Trump was, of course, referring to US Republican congressman Dave Hughes, rather than the popular funnyman.
Appearing on Today Extra on Tuesday, the 47-year-old was asked by hosts David Campbell and Sonja Kruger about the now infamous social media exchange.

'I mean usually he just bags people out..' he continued.
'Yeah look I didn't even realise I was running for congress in Minnesota,' the comedian cheekily responded.
