He previously joked about living on a diet of lettuce and carrots for his role in Peter Rabbit last year.

And appearing on the Ellen Degeneres Show on Thursday, James Corden, 40, has taken the same humorous approach to his upcoming role in the movie musical adaptation of Cats.

Speaking about the The Late Late Show host about his preparations regarding the eagerly-anticipated flick, the British star revealed: 'I immerse the character. I don’t use the bathroom – I have a litter tray.'

'That’s just what I’ve been doing the whole time,' James hilariously confessed to an amused Ellen.

Last year, the TV personality joked he lived as a rabbit for ten days - even reducing his diet to lettuce and carrots for his leading role in the CGI animation of Peter Rabbit.

'I lived as a rabbit for about 10 days, I slept in a hutch outside, I lived on a diet of carrots and lettuce' he told the Mirror.

'I actually got facial reconstruction surgery, which I've only just recovered from, such is my commitment to being the rabbit, you know.'
