She told the magazine: 'Fitness keeps me mentally happy, and it's an investment into my old age. 'Starting training in my 30s has definitely paid off in my 40s, and I'm hoping to keep myself fit and healthy with the right foods and exercise so that I have energy and am content into my later years.' 'It affects every single element of my life. It makes me a better mother, it makes me more patient and I think it just makes you a better person if you're healthy.' Melanie wrote on her website: 'I pretty much stopped drinking around my 45th birthday after reading Amilia Freer’s Eat. Nourish. Glow. book. 'I was hitting a milestone age and really wanted to clean up my diet and start focusing on my health more. I was already training and sort of healthy, but I wanted to go to the next level. 'I would still have the occasional blow out with mates, but more recently I thought I would stop entirely and see how it goes.
