The cult classic was filmed in the summer of 1996 in Chicago by director P.J. Hogan and was Diaz's first major role.
'I mean, I was considering turning it down,' she told Tim Stack. 'No, I’m kidding. I got to work with these folks and Julia. It was, like, a huge break for me.'
Diaz then admitted that her sister-in-law Nicole Richie is 'obsessed' with the flick and made her stop at various filming spots during a visit to the Windy City.
'She’s like, "Remember when you were walking down the street right here and then …" It was so much fun,' Cameron said. 'I was like, "Yes, I think I do." She’s like, "I do, and it really means a lot to me, so I would like for you to pretend like you do."'
