AFL star Brendan Fevola's fiancée Alex, 42, has revealed the reason why their two-month-old daughter Tobi was hospitalised over the weekend.
In a comment written beneath a photo on her Instagram page this Wednesday, the mother-of-four explained the symptoms Tobi was displaying and described moment she knew something wasn't right.
'Tobi had a mild temp on Sunday and looked a bit pale and wasn't herself. I wasn't sure whether to take her or not as there was no other symptoms. My gut feeling was that something wasn't right and thank god I took her,' the makeup artist penned.

'Parents make sure you get your baby medical attention if they have a temperature before 3 months of age,' she warned, adding: 'Tobi had a simple UTI from a runny nappy BUT what I didn't know is that babies this young can't compartmentise [sic] infection so a basic UTI can spread into their blood stream and cause serious and sometimes fatal complications.'
'This is why she was admitted and treated with intravenous antibiotics. Thank god, we got onto it quickly and the infection hadn't spread to kidneys or anywhere else,' she assured fans.
Alex completed the post with a tribute to Melbourne's Monash Children's Hospital, thanking them for tirelessly caring for Tobi during the difficult time.
