Matthew Wright and wife Amelia introduce baby daughter Cassady

Matthew Wright, 53, and his wife Amelia welcomed their first child, a baby girl called Cassady, last month after an eight-year battle with IVF.

The happy couple stopped off at the Lorraine studios on Wednesday morning with their daughter to discuss parenthood so far, which they say has made them 'fall in love' with each other all over again.

Amelia also confessed the past heartache they had endured 'hit her like a tidal wave' when she finally held her little girl in her arms.

They had tried for eight years to conceive, enduring six failed IVF attempts and one life-threatening ectopic pregnancy.

She confessed: 'I don't think I even realised how much I'd been through until I had her, and it hit me like a tidal wave. So many losses, and you finally have your baby. So many tears!'

Matthew - who was previously adamant he didn't want children - was a changed man, looking happier than ever as he described life in the 'blissful baby bubble'.

Cooing over his little girl as Amelia held her on the sofa, he enthused: 'Everything is such a cliche, it's a journey, a rollercoaster so many lows and giddy highs!'

Cassady arrived on January 25, nearly four weeks early, weighing just over 5lbs.

Amelia suffered from pre-eclampsia before the birth, a condition which develops in the late stages of pregnancy.
