Fleur East has snubbed Simon Cowell’s plan to introduce alternate versions of The X Factor, and insists she will not be taking part when the revamped show launches in 2019.

The 59-year old has confirmed there will be two contrasting series’ of the ITV show - one featuring an all-star celebrity line-up, with the other an assortment of former contestants from the show’s colourful 15-year history.

But despite Cowell’s enthusiasm for the change in format Fleur, 31, admits she is reluctant to take part having previously reached the final in 2014, nine-years after her first appearance on the show as a member of girl-group Addictiv Ladies.

'There have been some changes,' she said during an appearance on Friday's edition of This Morning. 'Simon has said that he is actually really excited about the show, the most excited he has been in a while.

'He planning to do a bit of a two-part situation. The first would be similar to do what he had done in 2006 where they had battle of the stars.

'So we'll have other celebrities coming on the show and taking part. And then, off the back of that, he's going to do "all stars", so previous contestants coming back.'

'It went so well, it was so amazing. So a third time, I'd be pushing it a bit, wouldn't I?'

While Fleur has ruled herself out, she admits others are more enthusiastic about taking part after chatting to a handful of former contestants on WhatsApp.

'Stevi Ritchie has announced that he would very happily go back,' she added.

In an interview with The Sun, the Syco executive insisted the 'time feels right' for the massive shake-up, but is still in the process of ironing out the details.

He explained: 'The time feels right, and it will be a huge change... essentially there are going to be two versions of X Factor running this year.

’I'm waiting for confirmation this week on some dates and clarification on the second show, but all we’re trying to do is upgrade and glamourise the show.

'Then next year the main X Factor show will change again and we’ve got something very, very exciting, that I can’t get into yet, but it’s a four-year plan.'
