They've been closely watched ever since they broke up from their respective other halves earlier this year.

And despite Wes Nelson and Vanessa Bauer refuting any whisperings of a romance during their pro/celebrity partnership on Dancing On Ice, Phillip Schofield decided to fuel the fire on Sunday's instalment of the skating series.

Introducing the couple, who were second to take to the ice this week, the presenter said: 'They've taken on the role of romantic love birds for this week's show. And they were sure to get hot and sweaty together in the gym this week!'
