Bridget Malcolm has revealed she considered suicide during her battle with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

The Victoria's Secret model tolerated months of anxiety attacks, terror, extreme sadness and agoraphobia due to the condition, which occurs two weeks before her period.

The 26-year-old explained that taking antidepressants 'saved her life' - and slammed 'misinformed health gurus' for suggesting methods like changes to her diet and exercise instead of prescribing medication.

'I have spent so many years swallowing the misinformed health advice of self proclaimed "gurus",' Bridget wrote on Instagram.   

'It is the reason why I was suicidal before I finally began taking SSRI’s [selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors] - which saved my life. 

'It frustrates me to no end when individuals abuse their large platforms by pretending to be medically trained, and forcing their opinions on their followers.'

She went on: 'It breaks my heart to think of how many other people out there may be struggling and blaming themselves; like I did for so many years (can’t lose weight? Try being vegan/paleo/keto.
