Dolly began performing as a young child, recorded her single Puppy Love at 13, and hit the big time in the late sixties with her extraordinary singing and songwriting capabilities.

And Dolly has insisted that her success is a result of her hard work, claiming: 'Of course, I’ve been hit on all my life as any young girl would be - but I always take it as a compliment. I never slept with anybody unless I wanted to.'

The legendary star added: 'I never found myself in any of those positions or I tried to stay out of those positions, and if I found myself in that, I was lucky I had a great personality and a great sense of humour that I could joke my way out of a lot of it — and then if I couldn’t, I have a temper and backbone so I could get out of it some other way.'

Speaking of the #MeToo movement in genera, Dolly confessed that there's still 'a long way to go' but is grateful that a 'light is being shone' on the mistreatment of women.
