And Richard E Grant brought his beloved daughter Olivia along for support, with the pair hitting the red carpet in style at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday.
The actor, 61, who has been nominated for his role in Can You Forgive Me?, looked overwhelmed with excitement as he posed for photographs with his plus one.

Richard cut a dapper figure in a red crushed velvet suit blazer, which he teamed with a silver waistcoat and black bow tie.
Olivia, meanwhile, looked the picture of sophistication in a black floor-length gown with an asymmetric hemline. She complemented the look with court shoes and silver earrings.
Richard took to Instagram earlier this week to share a sweet tribute to his daughter as he spoke of his delight at being able to take her to the Oscars.

The doting dad shared a throwback snap of him cuddling Olivia from a photoshoot just before they left the U.K.
He wrote: 'Permed 'wig' for a play back in 1993 and ecstatic to have my little @oliviagranted now all grown up and by my side for the magic carpet ride to the Oscars 24 years later!'
Richard got his first taste of success at the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday where he was bestowed with the Best Supporting Male title for his portrayal of Jack in the biography.
Richard will compete against Mahershala Ali, Sam Elliott, Sam Rockwell and Adam Driver for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.
