She won her first Oscar at the 91st Academy Awards in Hollywood on Sunday.

And If Beale Street Could Talk star Regina King, 48, looked like a winner from the moment she stepped onto the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in a stunning white Oscar de la Renta gown.

The actress was the epitome of style in the strapless dress slit to the waist on one side.

The designer number had a train that billowed out behind her as she posed for photos on her way into the awards show.

King completed her ensemble with a pair of white heels.

This being the biggest awards show of the season, she naturally was bedecked with diamonds, wearing a cuff on her right wrist with a large rock on her middle finger and some stunning earrings.

Together, her Chopard jewelry totaled 77 carats of diamonds set in 18-karat white gold.

King became an Oscar favorite early on after scooping the Golden Globe back in early January.

She beat out four stellar actresses to take home the gold statuette - Amy Adams for Vice, Rachel Weisz for The Favourite, Emma Stone, also for The Favourite, and Marina de Tavira for Roma. 

It's the first time that King, whose career began with the TV sitcom 227 in 1985, received an Academy Award nomination.

She was visibly moved as she collected her Oscar and touchingly thanked her mother who was seated with her in the audience. 

King's big screen credits over the years include Boyz N The Hood,  Jerry Maguire, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Daddy Day Care, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous, and Ray.
