Speaking on The Morning Show on Friday, the Perth-based mother told of how she overhauled the 63-year-old actor's diet and exercise routine to effectively enable him to lose weight. Australian health coach Samantha Jackson spoke with The Morning Show on Thursday, revealing how she helped Mel Gibson lose 14kg in eight weeks last year. Mel is pictured left in August 2017, and right in July 2018 where he is noticeably slimmer Samantha told The Morning Show that she met Mel early last year, and that altering his diet was the first step in helping him to slim down. 'We had to cut out butter and cream, and some of the naughtier things he was having, like steaks fried in butter,' she explained. 'I got him to eat more regularly but just less each time. He was eating [smaller portions] five times a day!' the health coach added 'I was quite brutal!' Perth-based Samantha overhauled Mel's diet and exercise routine in order to transform his body Next, Samantha made sure that Mel was undertaking a series of short, high-intensity workouts. 'We cut his exercise down to about 45 minutes per day,' she stated. Samantha and Mel have only met face-to-face on two occasions, with the brunette instructor giving her directions via text message and Face Time. Trim and terrific! Reminiscing on that time, Samantha told The Morning Show: 'I was in a restaurant with some friends, and he sat at the table right next to us. We struck up a conversation, and he came over and spoke to us and sat with us for the rest of the night.' 'He leaned back in his chair, and said he wanted to get fitter and I said that I would help him!' New pals! She also shared Mel's diet regimen with the publication, revealing that his day would begin with an omelette topped with tomatoes and capsicum. The Lethal Weapon star would then drink a protein shake in the mid-morning before a lunch of poached chicken, asparagus, broccoli, green beans and sweet potato. A second protein shake would follow in the afternoon, followed by an evening meal of grilled salmon with a small baked potato and garden salad.
