He has been battling cancer for nine years but it has done little to dampen his spirit.

And on Saturday, The Living Room host Barry Du Bois, 59, revealed how he chooses to bring a positive attitude to his fight to stay healthy.

Barry, who was diagnosed with plasmacytoma in 2010 and multiple myeloma eight years later, told The Daily Telegraph: 'I celebrate every day ... None of us are in the clear healthwise.'

He added: 'I have been through some barrels over the past 12 months, but I am putting them behind me.'

Barry, who is father to six-year-old twins Bennett and Arabella with wife Leonie Carol Tobler, has understandably been in reflective mood in recent times.

In September last year, the builder told The Daily Telegraph that he is grateful for every day that he has with his family.
