She has just won an Oscar for her role as Queen Anne in the critically lauded film The Favourite.
Yet one of Olivia Colman's first on-camera roles was worlds apart from royalty as she played a prostitute on an episode of BBC Two sketch series Bruiser in 2000.
The actress, 45, looks almost unrecognisable in the unearthed snaps where she can be seen wearing a scarlet wig with a fringe.

Smoking a cigarette in one photo while she speaks on the phone, Olivia looks worlds apart from the actress who her legions of fans are familiar with today.
In another shot, the actress speaks to a man while wearing a daring plunging top with a lace design and a leopard print detail.
Bruiser aired in February 2000 and ran for six episodes, with Olivia playing a variety of characters for its run.
The series also starred Martin Freeman, Robert Webb and David Mitchell.
