She confirmed she would be quitting Coronation Street after 13 years on the show.
And Kym Marsh told OK! Magazine that an important factor in her leaving the soap is the impending arrival of her first grandchild later this year.
The actress, 42, who announced her daughter Emilie, 21, was expecting her first child in December explained further in her latest column for the magazine:

‘Another big factor in my decision to take a break from Corrie is the impending arrival of my grandson. I’m looking forward to having more time to spend with him and Emilie after he’s born this summer’.
And Kym went on to reveal what prompted her to make her decision: 'I’ve loved every minute of working there and I’ve made some great friends at work but now feels like the right time for me to take a break and spread my wings.'
She went on to admit that she had no plans to appear in any reality shows:
