It was revealed in January that Ben Affleck was officially done with The Batman movie he'd spent almost three years working on.
In a special live roundtable interview with IGN last week, Affleck got candid about his decision to abandon the project.
As well as starring, the 46-year-old was set to direct and write the script for the Warner Bros. movie, the latter of which he says he just couldn't 'crack'.

Asked to explain what his vision for the film was, Affleck admitted: 'That was part of the problem,
'We worked on the script, I was trying to figure out how to crack it, and I was never happy enough with it where I thought it was worth going out and making it because I just didn't want to do a version that I wasn't really excited by, so I still don't know.'
His sentiments echoed those he expressed back in June 2016 when he told IGN: 'My timetable is I'm not going to make a movie until there's a script that I think is good because I've been on the end of the things when you make movies when you have a script that's not good yet and it doesn't pan out,
'It’s not just like, "Yeah, that might be fun, let’s go try this out."'
There had been rumors for months that Affleck was leaving the franchise, but Deadline reported in January that The Batman will focus on a 'younger Bruce Wayne.'
Affleck made his DC Extended Universe (DCEU) debut as the Caped Crusader in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, while making a cameo in 2016's Suicide Squad and then starring in 2017's Justice League.
