The Emmerdale actor, 38, spoke to MailOnline about the 31-year-old's cravings for salt and vinegar crisps, his hopes for a girl and how his recent grooming storyline affected him when he came home to his two sons.

He said: 'I'm really excited about the baby. I can't wait. Charley's doing good, her sickness has stopped. She's craving salt and vinegar crisps.
The father-of-two added: 'Of course I'd love a girl but I would love a boy too.'
Matthew also discussed how him playing a pivotal role in the harrowing grooming storyline on the ITV soap has affected him.
'When you're doing a storyline like I'm doing, it's quite hard to come home and rid your mind of everything you've been doing that day. It's so emotional. The best thing is being able to come home and be with those kids.'
