Yellow Wiggle Emma's first words after endometriosis surgery

Wiggles star Emma Watkins has been very open about her struggle with endometriosis over the past year.

And now the children's entertainer has spoken about the surgery that left her in so much pain she couldn't even make herself a cup of tea.

The 29-year-old revealed the endometriosis operation, which involved the removal of five cysts, meant she had to forego six weeks of the Wiggles' whistle-stop tour last year.'

'Apparently, I just woke up (from surgery) and I said, ''Sore, sore. I'm sore'',' Emma told Who magazine on Thursday.

'I remember waking up and you're just in agony. You can't even roll over on your side,' she added.

The performer, who announced her separation from Wiggles bandmate and husband Lachlan Gillespie after the surgery in August, said the symptoms started in March.

'I started bleeding every single day - I thought that was really bizarre,' Emma said. 

Endometriosis affects one in 10 women and 176 million women worldwide. 

The yellow Wiggle revealed last month she leaned on her bandmates, including estranged husband Lachlan, while recovering from surgery.

Speaking to Who, Emma said: 'It's so great having them and having Lachie as my best friend.'

She added: 'I'm so lucky.'
