Today show entertainment reporter Brooke Boney appeared to liken whiteface to blackface during a segment about the movie White Chicks on Tuesday.
The former Triple J newsreader, who joined Channel Nine in January, was discussing White Chicks sequel rumours when she made the link to blackface.
'Two of the Wayans brothers actually put on like masks and dressed up as white women,' the Indigenous media personality said.

She added: 'It'll be interesting to see how that plays out like we were speaking about in the current climate with blackface and how audiences react to that, because [the first White Chicks film] is 15 years old, so it sort of wasn't as big of a deal back then.'
Brooke's comments were in response to Hollywood actor Terry Crews recently hinting at a White Chicks sequel.
