Black Panther's Winston Duke admits he didn't to be 'sexualised and fetishised' ...

2018 proved to be a great year for him with acclaimed roles in Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.

And Winston Duke has now dished all on his experience of body objectification in Ryan Coogler's Black Panther, confessing that he didn't expect for his character M'Baku to be 'sexualised and fetishised like that.'

Speaking candidly to ES Magazine, the actor, 32, also admitted that 'being consumed as a sexual object felt good, but if it was done to a woman, it wouldn’t be acceptable.’

Winston had his first big break in the Marvel Universe last year, and is continuing his route to stardom in Jordan Peele's critically acclaimed new movie, Us.

However, his role in Black Panther came with the unfamiliar territory of body objectification.

‘I didn’t expect to be, um, kind of sexualised and fetishised like that. I didn’t want to be consumed only as a sexual object. Although it felt good, if it was done to a woman, it wouldn’t be acceptable.’

‘It was really important to me to steer the conversation towards asking why people are reacting that way. How often do they see characters like this on film?'
