But soap stars Kate Ford and Jack P. Shepherd looked happy and relaxed as they headed for lunch in Manchester's Media City on Thursday after the shocking scenes aired.
The actors, who play Tracy Barlow and David Platt respectively, took a break from filming as they joined Rula Lenska, who portrays Ken Barlow's girlfriend Claudia Colby on the cobbles.

The actress, who wheeled along a pink 'I love Manchester' suitcase, went make-up free for the low-key outing and kept her brunette tresses loose on her shoulders.
Jack, 31, looked effortlessly cool in a white long-sleeved polo shirt, black skinny jeans and chunky black boots as he strutted down the street.
He added a pair of dark sunglasses to his dapper ensemble as he listened to some music in the sunshine.
