Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson is making her directorial debut with the Netflix film Unicorn Store - and a new trailer for the project dropped Friday.

Brie, 29, stars as a woman called Kit who is expelled from art school and plants herself on the couch for days, until a surprise comes along to cheer her up.

Her childhood dream of having a pet unicorn looks like it may come true courtesy of a salesman played by Brie's Captain Marvel co-star Samuel L. Jackson.

While lounging about on her sofa in a fog of melancholy, she gets a visit from her parents, played by Joan Cusack and Bradley Whitford.

They are joined by Kevin, apparently an old friend of Kit's played by Karan Soni, who asks his pal: 'So what's your plan now that you've been kicked out of school?'

Kit has drifted into an unfulfilling job as an office temporary, where one of her colleagues asks wanly: 'You don't wanna be a temp forever, do you?'

Samuel's salesman character is waiting for her inside, modeling a bubblegum pink suit and glittering silver threads wrapped up in his hair.

'We sell what you need,' sells The Salesman, before projecting a video of a unicorn - a pet Kit describes as 'the only thing i ever wanted.'
