Kim Zolciak was shown reuniting with her brother for the first time in 14 years as she celebrated her 40th birthday on Friday's episode of Don't Be Tardy.
The reality TV star was nervous and emotional at ending the separation from Mike Zolciak, 41, that she says was caused by her parents 'driving a wedge' between them.
'Just because I don't talk to my parents doesn't mean I can't talk to my brother, who was my lifeline for 18 years,' Kim said. 'I hope that we can rebuild a little bit of a relationship.'

The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star kept changing the timescale since their last meeting – going from 16 years to 17 then 20.
'Oh my God, 2004. Do the math!' Mike stressed of the reunion filmed in May last year, just for her to again say: 'We haven't seen each other in 20 years!'
When Mike arrived with his wife, Jessica, at a restaurant for the first get-together, it was also his first time meeting Kim's husband Kroy Biermann, 33, who greeted him by saying: 'Nice to finally meet ya.'

Kim seemed thrilled at how easily they reconnected, saying later: 'My brother and I have always had a connection. We're a year apart and thank God it's very easy to get back into it.'
But as she failed to get some of his jokes – with him asking for 'northern-fried chicken' rather than southern – she insisted: 'Growing up, I remember my brother being like the d***head.'
He also seemed baffled by her lifestyle, especially when she admitted seeing a psychic and also when she spoke of her eldest daughter, Brielle, then 21, and her career.
