Coronation Street's Jennie McAlpine reveals she has no plans to ever leave the ...

She's played factory girl Fiz Stape on Coronation Street since 2001.

And now Jennie McAlpine, 35, has admitted that she had no plans to ever leave Weatherfield as it's the 'easiest job in the world'. 

The actress, who is currently on maternity leave after welcoming daughter Hilda with husband Chris Farr, said that she still 'loves' going to work on the ITV soap 18 years on.

Speaking on the Humans of XS Manchester podcast, she said: 'We just had an email last week that it's going to be the 60th anniversary of Corrie, which obviously I knew but that it's been put in black and white this December. 60 years.

'I do love it. The thing is I mean you never ever know, I never take it for granted because they may have other ideas one day but for now I love it. 

'I live in Manchester, I've got my life in Manchester and now two children in Manchester. I mean, it's the easiest job in the world.'

A self-proclaimed 'massive Corrie fan', Jennie added that she's obsessed with the long-running soap and said it was an honour to know the show's creator Tony Warren.

She continued: 'I love them, I'm such a massive, massive Corrie fan. It never worked out but I was supposed to be doing Celebrity Mastermind a couple of years ago and I was going to do it on Coronation Street in the 1960s. 

'I'm a bit obsessed. I love it.
