The Dawson's Creek actress is a global ambassador for Artolution, a community-based public art project that helps to address a variety of challenges faced by local residents.
Visiting on behalf of the project, Katie and her daughter were photographed decorating and making art with the refugees in a series of Katie's pictures.
Suri, dressed in a charity T-shirt, was also seen playing with a younger boy as the pre-teen got stuck in with the volunteering experience.
