Emmerdale's Amy Walsh admits she would 'think twice' about saving someone from a violent attack because of knife crime in Britain

Viewers will watch her character Tracey Metcalfe get arrested after defending her friend in a racist attack.

But actress Amy Walsh, 31, admitted she's not sure she would step in to a real-life fight, citing knife crime in Britain.

The TV star, who is the younger sister of Girls Aloud hitmaker Kimberley, admitted she thinks society is 'dangerous' and would fear for her safety in a similar situation.

She told The Mirror: 'I’d like to think I’d stick up for someone but equally you have to be quite careful.

'I’d think twice. If someone was seriously at risk I think I would keep quiet unless it affected me, which is a sad thing. It’s a sign of society. It’s very dangerous out there.'
