And now Georgie Stone will become the first transgender star to have a guest role on long-running TV soap Neighbours as a trans character.
The Australian transgender rights advocate, 18, scored the coveted gig after personally pitching herself for the role to the show's executive producer last year.

Aspiring actress Georgie told The Daily Telegraph on Friday that she was thrilled to receive an email back from executive producer Jason Herbison within two hours of sending the ambitious pitch.
In her email, she suggested numerous ideas of how a trans young person could appear on the family-friendly program.
'I thought this would be a great opportunity to tell a story that isn’t often told on Australian TV,' she said.
