'Alex was very excited about me doing a stripper movie', Jennifer confessed. 'He helped me do research by going to a strip club in NYC with me and we watched the show and afterwards I chatted to some of the girls.
'Of course he knew that world (the stripper world) very well from when he was a young athlete, going to the clubs and stuff. He helped me a lot with the preparation for this movie and was very supportive.'
Jennifer plays Ramona in Hustlers, a thinly-veiled version of American stripper Samantha Barbash.
Barbash was the ringleader of a gang of young exotic dancers, who drugged wealthy Wall Street clients and scammed them out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The ensemble includes Cardi B, Mercedes Ruehl, Julia Stiles, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer, Frank Whaley and Trace Lysette.
