EastEnders star June Brown has revealed she is going blind and has stopped going out socially as she can no longer recognise anyone.
The Dot Cotton star, 92, who has been on the hit BBC One soap for more than 30 years, has even given up reading newspapers and instead relies on her Amazon Alexa voice assistant to give her headlines.
June has suffered from macular degeneration, an age-related condition, for 10 years which causes blurriness or blindness in the centre of the visual field.
The soap legend had an operation in 2017 to fit extra lenses in her eyes, but it wasn't as effective as she wanted.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: 'Alexa could help me keep up with what’s going on in the world, because I’ve given up on my papers now. I
