She's carved out an extraordinary film and television career spanning over 60 years.

So it was little wonder Dame Diana Rigg was honoured with a Variety Icon award at the opening ceremony of the Cannes International Series Festival (Canneseries) at the Palais des Festival in Cannes, France on Friday. 

The actress, 80, famed for playing Lady Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones,  looked thrilled to receive the accolade - only the second ever awarded at the event.

Diana cut a glamorous figure as she took to the red carpet to pose for pictures ahead of the ceremony. 

The screen siren donned a chic black blazer with prominent shoulder pads and intricate gold patterned cuffs, teamed with black trousers and patent shoes.

Diana accessorised her look with a black, gold-chained handbag, a gold embellished necklace and snazzy round-rimmed white shades. 

The star wore her honey blonde tresses in a stylish bob and added a pop of colour with coral lips.
