He found fame after winning The X Factor in 2017 with his band Rak-Su, who are gearing up to release single their latest single, Yours Or Mine, on Friday 12 April.

And now, in an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Myles Stephenson, 27, spoke candidly about the 'hard times' he went through growing up, revealing that he was forced to sleep on a solid wood floor downstairs in his father's two-bed council house.

The singer explained that after his parents got divorced, his father's girlfriend at the time wouldn't buy him a bed, and because her two children slept in the property's second bedroom, he was resigned to sleeping on the floor.

Myles revealed that his parents ended their relationship when he was two years old, because his dad was 'messing around.'

Discussing the hard times he endured during his childhood, Myles told MailOnline: 'Family issues, for instance my mum and dad having a divorce when I was two years old, because of my dad messing around.

'And him not being there potentially as much as he should have been in the younger years. I always knew that he loved me, but I didn't see him as much. It was hard to see my dad when I was younger.

'That wasn't just his fault. The woman that he was with made it hard because she had two kids of her own.

'So, staying tHere in Ealing, Greenford, it was a council house and it was only a two-bed. So I'd have to sleep on the floor, like on a solid wood floor downstairs, and she wouldn't buy me a bed.

'People go through stuff, and it makes you who you are at the end of the day.'  

The X Factor star also admitted that, as a teen, he wasn't interested in education, and 'liked getting into fights.'
