Victoria proved to be full of shocks on Sunday night, as a shock death helped the royal couple reconcile following an explosive domestic feud.

After days of furious exchanges in what could be only described as the 19th Century version of a Twitter feud, it took the tragedy of a cholera outbreak to bring the couple back together.

But it was the death of fan favourite character Nancy that left fans of the period drama reeling, as her Happy Ever After with husband Francatelli was tragically cut short.

The episode began with Victoria and Albert barely on speaking terms following their Isle Of Wight clash, exchanging fiercely written words around the issue of Bertie’s schooling. 

The couple struggled to even muster a greeting as they finally met to greet the visiting foreign ambassadors, before once again arguing on the issue of Albert’s decision to travel to Cambridge.

In a dramatic scene Victoria tried to display her authority over her husband with another blazing row, but to no avail.

Meanwhile, London is rocked by the news of a cholera outbreak in Soho, and little-known physician Dr Jon Snow is desperate to find the cause, despite little acknowledgement from his peers.

After the Queen is informed, she demands to visit a hospital and meet those who are suffering, once again going against advice, as the disease was at the time viewed to be spreading through the air.
