The godfather of Punk music, Iggy Pop, made his triumphant and long-awaited return to Sydney on Monday night.

The 71-year-old icon stormed the Sydney Opera House stage to perform hits from his extensive back catalogue, the first time in Australia since 2013.

As well as delivering his head-banging favourites, Iggy ensured the crowd was treated to his usual rocker garb - which usually consists of tight trousers and not much else.

The Lust For Life singer opted for a leopard-print bomber with black PVC sleeves and tight black trousers and a black studded belt. 

But in typical Iggy fashion, the jacket was quickly discarded and he was soon seen gyrating shirtless around the stage as he delivered a trademark high-octane show.
